Colorado Ecospiritual Center

The Colorado Ecospiritual Center (CEC) was founded in 2007 by Rev. Ahriana Platten. Together with her husband, Mark, Ahriana envisioned a community-minded organization informed by the ecospiritual understanding that nature is a Divine emanation and, as such, is sacred and holy.

At CEC, we recognize and value nature as "common ground" upon which we can create deeper understanding and connection with each other and all of life. Our objective is to provide training, products and services that encourage and support a natural reverence for the earth and all her diverse inhabitants.

Ecospirituality is not a religion. It is a way of living that encourages its practitioners to explore nature in an intentional and sacred way. Learning about and/ or living in an ecospiritual fashion does not preclude a person from following his or her own faith tradition. We do not require anyone to follow a specific Deity, nor do we worship nature. We view nature as both a spiritual and a scientific classroom – and we respect nature as a teacher who offers immense wisdom that is relevant to modern-day life.

Any person of any faith tradition is welcome to explore ecospirituality at CEC, or in any class or activity we offer elsewhere, and we are happy to share sacred space with people of all beliefs and lifestyles. We are an inclusive spiritual community, and our products and services will meet the diverse needs of people who would describe themselves as progressive, authentic, open-minded and accepting.

Our activities focus on the following topics:

  • Sustainable Living
  • Health and Wholeness
  • Indigenous and Earth-based Studies
  • Life Passages, Rites and Rituals
  • Interfaith Ministry
  • EcoSpiritual Practices
  • Outdoor Experiences

Our classes and events change often. The best way to learn about what we are currently offering is to sign up for our bimonthly newsletter by clicking on the link at the top of the page. You can also visit the calendar on this website.

As a spiritual practice, interaction with nature generally leads most people to compassionate involvement in the ecological health of our planet. We therefore interact with, and support, organizations whose goals and objectives fit well with ours. If you are involved with such an organization, please contact us so that we can share resources and collaborate.

At CEC, we embrace nature as holy, immerse ourselves in nature as an experiential school of profound importance, and explore our interconnectedness.

We look forward to sharing sacred space with you!

Rev. Ahriana Platten

In the beauty of nature lies the spirit of hope.
